There is a brand new shade of blue that was just stumbled upon through a chemis-tastrophe and it’s absolutely BLUE-tiful! Scientists discovered the color accidentally mixing Yttrium, Indium and Manganese together at 2000 degree F.
They’ve dubbed the color YInMn Blue. What makes it so cool? Besides the fact that it’s blue . . . The pigment's crystal structure keeps it from fading, even when exposed to oil or water. Now it’s being used in sketches, paintings and it's even being considered for rooftops as a solution to keep buildings cooler.
So to throw it up to the scientist of the YInMn creation, we celebrate the beauty of blue in all of its tiled glory.
